(BUCET) Bicol University College Entrance Test 2019-2020

Incoming freshmen are required to take the BUCET. It is a three-hour examination consisting of sub-tests in Language proficiency in English, Mathematics, Science and Reading Comprehension. Admission will be based on the applicant's Bicol University College Entrance Test (BUCET) Composite Rating consisting of the BUCET score and his/her general weighted average (GWA) in the grade 9 to grade 11.



  1. Students of DepEd-recognized high schools that are high school seniors expecting to graduate at the end of the school year; OR
  2. Senior high school graduates who have not taken and/ are not taking any collefe subjects/s; AND
  3. Holders of Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT/ALS) certificates who are eligible for admission to college.


  1. Correctly and completely accomplished Application Form(AF).
  2. Two (2) copies of 2"x2" identical recent photograph of the applicant in white background.
  3. Grade 9 to Grade 11 High School academic ratings affixed at the reverse side of the Application Form, and duly signed by the principal.
  4. One long-sized window envelope containing Php 45.00 worth of stamps for mailing of test results.
  5. Photocopies of Form 137 and Form 138 for senior high school graduates who have not taken any college subject. (Original copies should be presented for authentication.)


You can now apply for the BUCET either through the new ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS, or through the traditional MANUAL APPLICATION PROCESS.


The Online Application Form can be accessed through the portal, Make sure you have a stable internet connection. Whatever input that will be submitted by the applicant is final and cannot be changed.

  2. Fill out the Online BUCET Application Form honestly and completely;
  3. Print out the PDF copy of your filled-up BUCET Application Form. Use Legal size (8"x13") bond paper for printing the form;
  4. Give the BUCET Application Form to your high school Principal/School Head to fill out the SECONDARY RECORD FORM at the back page of your Application Form. Make sure your School Principal/School Head has signed the Application Form and has the dry seal of your school;
  5. The BUCET Testing Fee of Php 250.00 is free for Filipino freshmen applicants pursuant to R.A. 10931;
  6. Bring your application requirements at the BU Admissions Office during your assigned queued date;
  7. Submit your BUCET requirements at Window 1;
  8. Claim your Test permit at Window 1.


  1. Get a copy of the BUCET Application Form from: a. Bicol University Admissions Office. b. your High School Principal. c. Bicol University website:
  2. Provide all of the information asked for in the Application Form. Write in the appropriate box your course choice, campus and its corresponding course CODE;
  3. Check that no item is left unanswered in the Application Form;
  4. Give the reverse side of the BUCET Application Form to your High School Principal/ School head to be filled out. Make sure your School Principal/Official has signed the Application Form and has the dry seal of your school;
  5. The BUCET Testing Fee of Php 250.00  is free for Filipino freshmen applicants pursuant to R.A. 10931;
  6. Bring your application requirements at the BU Admissions Office;
  7. Get a queue number and wait for your number to be called;
  8. An assigned personnel will call your number, and check your requirements;
  9. Submit your BUCET requirements at Window 2 or Window 3 of the BU Admissions Office;
  10. Claim your Test Permit.


Go to your designated Test Center on the date specified in your Test Permit. Be at the Test Center 30 minutes before the scheduled test.

Bring the following during examination:

  1. Test Permit or Admission Slip with 2"x2" photograph
  2. School ID
  3. Two(2) pcs. #2 pencils
  4. Light snacks

It is strictly prohibited to use of any form calculating devices, cellphones, and/or cameras during the exam. This will automatically forfeit your application to the university.


Online Viewing of BUCET Results will be released in March 2019. You can view the results in the official BU website:

Applicants whose rating fall within the quota or required number of students for the different courses are considered Qualified (Q). Otherwise they are classified as Waitlisted (W), Qualified but Below Quota (QBQ) or Below Cut-Off Score (BCOS).

1. Notices of Admission or Non-admission will be mailed to the applicants. Pertinent information and instructions accompany the Notice of Result. Reply slips for Q qualified applicants should be returned to the Admissions Office on or before the deadline date; otherwise, interested Waitlisted and QBQ applicants will fill-in the open slots in a particular course/degree. If no letter is received, applicants are advised to contact the Admissions Office not later than April 30, 2019.

2. Some colleges require an interview and/ qualifying examination prior to admission to fill-in vacant slots left open by Qualified applicants. In such cases, Qualified but Below Quota applicants may be admitted provided they satisfy other requirements required by the college.

3. The List of BU Open Courses will be posted or disseminated by the BUAO to inform interested QBQ applicants of other possible courses they can consider to be admitted in Bicol University.


Applicants must submit their BUCET Application Form and requirements at the Bicol University Admissions Office NOT at the listed Test Centers.
